WHAT WE DO...
Through a variety of fun exercises and techniques, the Actors Co-Op is creating a safe and inclusive environment for kids, teens, and adults to encourage creativity, the beauty of storytelling, and to explore the craft of acting, specifically for Film and Television.
THE ACTORS CO-OP DIFFERENCE...
In this subjective industry, there are many acting techniques and styles, however, we don't subscribe to one method. We encourage everyone to use a "what works for you" approach. Your individuality is what we want to explore and bring to the surface every time you work. Ultimately, our goal is to instill confidence and have you feel comfortable in your skin while working individually, with a partner, or in a small group. And of course, most importantly, have a lot of FUN.
OUR ULTIMATE VISION
The Actors Co-op was founded with the vision to create a centralized space where actors and film-makers can collaborate and bring their visions to life as equal partners. This means we are more than just an acting school. We are creatives, and connectors, producers and writers, directors, and filmmakers. Our network is vast and with our connections, we help individuals realize their vision.
Students of the Actors Co-op classes will be paired up and given appropriate scenes to work on. Some scenes will be cold reads and others will need to be rehearsed at home. The curriculum also consists of improv scenes, monologues, commercial readings, and table reads of new materials.
The classes will also cover important topics such as: auditioning, getting started in the industry for the novice actor, and resume and casting site profile guidance for more experienced actors. We will also have cinematographers, writers, directors or producers sit in on a class as well as local talent agents join us for Q&A sessions. This is a great opportunity to get in front of local filmmakers who are currently working on projects and casting local talent. Some of our guests have included local directors and producers such as Edgar Michael Bravo, John Paul Rice, Joshua Coates, Jamill Jones, Kevin Hackenberg, Jennifer M. Kay, and Andrew Hunsicker to name a few.
We encourage you to visit us, check out the space, and/or sit in on a class. That's the best way to get a true vibe of the CO-OP.
If interested in auditing a class, please click on the "Contact Us" tab and send us an email. We will get back to you shortly.
